The World Health Assembly is the main decision-making body of the WHO comprising health ministers from 194 member states, and meets once a year in May. Progress against the global NCD targets and Global NCD Action Plan 2013-2020 is reviewed by the WHA.

With the third UN High-Level Meeting on NCDs scheduled for 2018, this will be an important milestone in the lead up to the UN General Assembly, and the Agenda will include items, discussions and side events relating to NCDs and preparations for the Summit.
