As part of the preparatory process for the UN High-Level Meeting on NCDs, the President of the General Assembly, with the support of the World Health Organization, will organize and preside over an interactive hearing with the active participation of Member States, observers of the General Assembly, parliamentarians, representatives of local government, relevant United Nations entities, non-governmental organizations, civil society organizations, philanthropic foundations, academia, medical associations, the private sector and broader communities. This was among the requests agreed at in the modalities resolution for the third UN HLM on NCDs.
